Polygon Labs CEO: Laying off some employees to advance the acquisition of Coinme and transforming into a blockchain payment company
Foresight News reported that Polygon Labs CEO Marc stated that the company is in the final stages of completing the acquisition of Coinme, and will integrate the team into Polygon Labs as part of a broader merger plan aimed at achieving profitability by 2027. As part of this transformation, the company decided on the same day to part ways with some colleagues in order to complete its transition from a "blockchain foundation" to a "blockchain payment company."
Marc stated that this adjustment stems from changes in organizational structure and talent needs rather than issues with the abilities of departing employees. He also said that the company’s current revenue is strong, stablecoin trading volume continues to set records, customer channels are performing beyond expectations, and the on-chain payment solution has already been launched. He said the company will provide severance pay and support to affected employees and welcomes institutions with recruitment needs to contact him.
