Latest Unemployment Claims Report
For the week ending March 14, initial claims for unemployment benefits, adjusted for seasonal trends, dropped to 205,000—down 8,000 from the prior week's total of 213,000. The four-week average of claims also declined, reaching 210,750, which is 750 fewer than the previous week's revised figure. Notably, last week's average was adjusted downward by 500, moving from 212,000 to 211,500.
As of the week ending March 7, the seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate remained steady at 1.2 percent, showing no change from the previous week. The number of people receiving unemployment benefits for that week rose to 1,857,000.
