Samsung Electronics' Market Value Surpasses 1,000 Trillion KRW for the First Time
Samsung Electronics' market capitalization surpassed the significant milestone of 1,000 trillion KRW (approximately 688 billion USD) during intraday trading on Wednesday for the first time. The company's stock price continued to rise, driven by the global artificial intelligence boom.
According to data from the Korea Exchange, Samsung Electronics' market cap once reached around 1,002 trillion KRW, and its stock price rose to 169,400 KRW, up 1.13% compared to the previous trading day's closing price. On Tuesday, the stock had surged by 11.37%.
Since October 27 last year, when its stock price broke through the 100,000 KRW threshold, Samsung Electronics has maintained a record-breaking performance. At that time, a global investment boom in artificial intelligence infrastructure led to a significant increase in chip demand.
Industry observers expect Samsung Electronics to continue demonstrating strong performance in the future, and the company is also expected to further expand its market share in the high-end High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) segment.
Samsung Electronics achieved record operating profit and sales in the fourth quarter of 2025. The company’s net profit for the entire previous year was 45.2 trillion KRW, up 31.2% from the prior year.
