France PMI falls below the threshold across the board, Eurozone October Composite PMI preliminary value drops to 51.9, lower than expected

Dragged down by concerns over France's fiscal situation and political instability, its October composite PMI fell to 48.4, slipping into contraction; Germany maintained expansion but at a slower pace, pulling the Eurozone's composite PMI down to 51.9. The sell-off of French bonds and persistently high inflation have heightened market concerns over tighter financial conditions, and the market widely expects the European Central Bank to pause interest rate hikes in the near term.

Franklin Templeton's Alternatives Push Is Turning Into Organic Growth, UBS Says

12:59 PM EDT, 10/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Franklin Templeton's (BEN) years of investment in alternatives, separately managed accounts and active exchange-traded funds are starting to deliver organic growth and wider margins, which should support more durable earnings, UBS said in a note emailed Wednesday. The bank said the asset manager is on track for positive organic growth in fiscal 2026 for the first time in over a decade, with private markets strength offsetting legacy active outflows. UBS also expects operating margins to keep expanding, supported by expense discipline, operating leverage and a growing contribution from higher-margin private assets. The bank assumed coverage on the stock with a buy rating and $40 per share price target. Price: 32.50, Change: +0.05, Percent Change: +0.17
