XRP Retreats After Failed Breakout Above $1.37

  • XRP lost its gains toward $1.40 and has found itself at $1.33, with another recovery push or decline at the level.
  • Buyers who manage to break through should be able to resume the trend toward $1.39 on a four-hour close above $1.37.
  • Trading volume rose 38.68% to $2.47 billion as XRP fell, while $1.31 remains the next downside level in view.

XRP has fallen back after its rally stalled near $1.40, leaving traders watching whether support can hold during the next sessions.

XRP Gives Back Its Breakout Gains

XRP as of writing  trades at $1.33 based on the latest market data, dropping 0.64% over a 24-hour period. Trading volume reached $2.47 billion, up 38.68% during the same period. The price pullback occurred after a significant rally from 1.28 – 1.30.

The previous push brought XRP up from below $1.33, where it encountered resistance from $1.37 to $1.39. The rally bottomed at just under $1.40, but then the sellers got the better of them. The reversal wiped away a lot of the gain and did not provide any confirmation of the breakout.

A brief move above resistance has little value if price quickly falls back. Buyers now need to regain lost ground and keep it. Otherwise, XRP may continue trading beneath the zone that ended its advance.

$1.33 Holds the Near-Term Trading Setup

The analyst considers $1.33 the level that could preserve another attempt higher. The price previously moved sideways around this area before the rally began. Holding it would give buyers room to challenge $1.37 again.

The first nearby hurdle is $1.34, where recent trading struggled to stabilize. A recovery above it could bring $1.35 and $1.36 into view. Buyers would still need to defend those levels before testing the earlier high.

A four-hour close above $1.37 could put $1.39 back within reach. However, buyers would need to hold above the breakout level this time. Another rejection could leave XRP trading below resistance without a clear recovery.

If XRP loses $1.33, Marzell sees $1.31 as the next retest. The earlier chart also marks a liquidity area around $1.29. These levels offer downside references, though price is not guaranteed to reach either one.

Rising Volume Accompanies XRP’s Retreat

Trading volume increased while XRP moved away from its recent high. This indicates increased activity during the down cycle, but not necessarily a continued selling. Price behavior over the next sessions will help clarify whether the move persists.

The market data lists XRP’s capitalization at $84.25 billion. Its fully diluted valuation stands near $133.47 billion, with 63.12 billion XRP circulating. The reported maximum supply is 100 billion XRP, and the platform lists about 575,870 holders.

These figures describe XRP’s market size and supply, not the balance between current buyers and sellers. The short-term setup still depends on whether $1.33 holds. A break beneath it would bring the $1.31 level back into focus.

XRP is as of writing trading between support at $1.33 and resistance at $1.37. Support may provide another opportunity to test $1.39, but a drop below $1.31 is a possibility. These are not confirmed until price decisively breaks out from them in either direction..
