Tether’s AI investment lifts AIsa’s funding above $9 million

Key takeaways

  • Tether and HIVEN joined AIsa’s existing investors in the seed extension.
  • Tether reports more than 250,000 operating agents on AIsa’s network.
  • Businesses can set budgets, approve transactions and review spending records.
  • AIsa supports both conventional currencies and stablecoins.

Tether’s AI investment brings AIsa’s funding above $9 million

AIsa confirmed the financing on October 15, with Tether participating through Tether Capital, its El Salvador-based investment arm. The companies did not disclose Tether’s contribution, the ownership stake acquired or AIsa’s valuation.

The extension follows an earlier seed round co-led by Alibaba and Tribe Capital. In its July 3 disclosure, AIsa reported $6.5 million in cumulative funding since its founding in 2025. Sumitomo Corporation, Draper Associates and Saison Capital also participated in that financing.

The two reported totals show an increase of more than $2.5 million since July, but that difference does not establish the October extension’s exact size.

Tether Capital says it invests company profits and excess reserves across technology, finance and other industries. For AIsa, the funding supports its resource marketplace, payment infrastructure and controls for enterprise users.

AI agents get purchasing access—with spending controls

AIsa connects enterprise AI agents to paid data, AI search, models, application programming interfaces, software tools and industry services through a single account. Its platform combines access to those resources with permissions, budgets and transaction approvals.

Tether says the network supports more than 250,000 operating agents, has processed 100 million transactions worldwide and offers access to more than 5,000 APIs, tools and models.

AIsa’s statement identifies fragmented providers, integrations and billing systems as obstacles to running enterprise agents at scale. Its system brings resource discovery, access and purchases together, with usage metering, billing and settlement handled through one interface rather than separate provider accounts and subscriptions.

Businesses can establish spending limits before agents buy services. AIsa also records purchases and supplies audit trails, allowing companies to monitor how automated systems use their resources.

Depending on the service and transaction setup, payments may be made in either conventional currencies or stablecoins. Stablecoins are a payment option, not a requirement for every purchase.

Jordan Liu, AIsa’s founder and CEO, said enterprise agents need “trusted information, useful tools and a governed way to transact.” He described infrastructure that lets agents find and pay for resources while businesses retain control over permissions and spending.

Tether links AIsa investment to AI payments

Tether positioned its AI stake in AIsa as part of its broader push into AI-powered payments and programmable money. CEO Paolo Ardoino said users need control over automated spending as agents take on more responsibilities.

The investment follows related projects involving machine-directed transactions. In May, Tether-backed Oobit introduced payment cards allowing approved business agents to purchase with USDT, using transaction-level spending restrictions and merchant controls.

NEURA Robotics revealed in June that it had secured funding of up to $1.4 billion, with Tether and Nvidia among the investors. Tether’s October investment statement also referenced plans to use its Wallet Development Kit and QVAC technology in robotic systems. The kit supports self-custodial wallet development; QVAC supports AI functions running locally on devices.

Tether reported $1.5 billion in net operating profit for the second quarter of 2026, driven primarily by income from U.S. Treasury holdings and repurchase agreements. At the end of June, reported assets totaled approximately $187.7 billion, with excess reserves near $4.1 billion.

AIsa begins enterprise trials

AIsa has begun enterprise pilot programs exploring financial intelligence, market research, supply-chain management and commerce.

The company’s October announcement set out three development priorities: expanding its global resource network, strengthening enterprise spending controls and building transaction infrastructure.

Deutsche Bank, which "accurately called the top" two weeks ago: Tech stocks need to "fall another 5%" to reach the "long-term trend bottom"

After Deutsche Bank downgraded its rating on US tech and large-cap growth stocks two weeks ago, tech stocks have underperformed the rest of the S&P 500 components by 12 percentage points. However, Deutsche Bank noted that tech stocks still have about 5 percentage points of downside before reaching the bottom of their long-term trend channel. Institutional positions have been quickly cooling, and signs of outflows from the $30 billion bottom-fishing funds are beginning to appear. Going forward, earnings performance, capital flows, and external risks will determine whether the adjustment stops at structural rotation.
