SHIB Burn Rate Falls Off a Cliff: Can Shiba Inu Still Rally?

  • SHIB burn rate plunged 91%, with only 338,050 tokens removed recently.
  • Despite the burn slowdown, SHIB gained 11% over the past month.
  • Rising trading volume and ongoing burns continue supporting bullish sentiment.

Shiba Inu investors received mixed signals heading into the new week. The token burn rate suffered a dramatic collapse, falling more than 91% within a day. Such a sharp drop normally raises concerns across the community. However, price performance tells a different story. SHIB remains up over the past month despite recent weakness. Rising trading activity and continued token destruction have also kept optimism alive. The big question now centers on whether SHIB can maintain momentum despite the latest burn rate setback.

Burn Activity Slows, but the Bigger Picture Remains Positive

According to recent data, the Shiba Inu burn rate dropped by 91.31% during the past 24 hours. Daily burn volume fell from nearly 3.9 million SHIB to about 338,000 SHIB. Such a decline highlights a significant slowdown in token removal activity. Even so, one weak day does not erase broader trends. During September, burn activity produced several notable spikes.

More than 73 million SHIB disappeared on September 10. Another 69 million SHIB left circulation on September 19. Monthly figures reveal softer conditions overall. Burn activity declined more than 36% during the past 30 days. Despite that slowdown, the cumulative impact remains substantial.

More than 410 trillion SHIB have now been permanently removed from circulation. That figure carries real significance for long-term holders. Burned tokens account for roughly 41% of total supply. Lower supply can strengthen scarcity over time. Many investors view that dynamic as a positive factor for future value.

SHIB Price Holds Up Despite Burn Rate Collapse

SHIB price failed to escape broader market pressure on Monday. The token fell 4.69% and traded near $0.000005673. Despite that daily drop, recent performance remains encouraging. Over the past 30 days, SHIB gained more than 11%. Market capitalization climbed to roughly $3.34 billion. Those numbers suggest continued interest from traders and investors. Trading activity also paints an encouraging picture.

While burn activity weakened, daily trading volume increased nearly 11%. Higher volume often signals active market participation. Strong participation can support future price movement. Looking ahead, many traders remain focused on token burns. Continued supply reduction could strengthen bullish sentiment. Every token removed from circulation reduces available supply. Some forecasts remain optimistic.

Finbold’s AI-powered forecasting tool projects SHIB could reach $0.000006525 by October 1, 2026. Such a target would represent further upside from current levels. For now, SHIB faces a battle between weakening burn activity and improving market interest. The burn rate collapse grabbed headlines, but buyers have not disappeared. As long as trading activity stays healthy and supply continues shrinking, SHIB still has a path toward higher prices.

How does Wall Street view the PCE? Goldman Sachs delays expectation for Fed rate hike

After the lower-than-expected US August PCE data was released, Goldman Sachs delayed its expectation for the Federal Reserve's second rate hike from October to December, and stated that it does not rule out the possibility that the Fed may eventually decide no further hikes are necessary. "New Fed Newsletter" Timiraos noted that the PCE does not change the previously known trend of rising inflation. Currently, the market prices in a 39% probability of a rate hike in October, down from 45% before the PCE release; and a 90% probability in December. The yield on 2-year US Treasury notes dipped slightly after the PCE announcement and then rebounded, while the 10-year yield continued to rise.
