Uniswap v4 leads tokenized-stock DEX trading, UNI price holds above $9.33 support

Uniswap’s UNI token is trading near $9.61 after a strong rally throughout the third quarter, which saw the token advance from $2.35 to $10.85. This surge broke the descending triangle pattern that had constrained UNI since the 2021 peak at $45, marking a technical breakout and shifting the token’s market structure.

Key support and resistance levels after Q3 breakout

Following its quarterly move, the UNI price experienced a modest pullback, with buyers actively defending the $9.33 support zone. Short-term resistance is now identified at $9.93. Market participants are watching these levels closely, as reclaiming $9.93 would pave the way for a retest of the recent swing high, while failure to hold above $9.33 could expose UNI to further losses towards $8.37.

On the daily chart, the next major hurdle for UNI is the $12.30 area. A sustained breakout above this resistance could fuel additional gains, with subsequent technical targets at $15.10 and $17.50. Momentum has recently moderated after the sharp Q3 rally, indicating that buyers may need to consolidate before another potential leg up.

UNI price now sits between a confirmed breakout and crucial near-term resistance. Whether buyers can hold $9.33 and regain momentum above $9.93 will determine the next direction.

A key macroeconomic event, the US PCE inflation report scheduled for September 30, is expected to influence overall crypto market volatility and could impact UNI’s price action around these chart levels.

Uniswap v4 drives tokenized stock DEX volume

Protocol usage trends offer another angle on Uniswap’s position in the decentralized finance ecosystem. In the past 30 days, data provider Token Terminal reported $20.9 billion in total decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volume for tokenized stocks. Uniswap v4, the latest version of the decentralized exchange protocol built on Ethereum, captured 40.7% of this volume, making it the dominant venue. Uniswap v3 contributed an additional 19.4%, bringing their combined share to 60.1% for tokenized-stock trading.

Uniswap, founded by Hayden Adams in 2018, is a leading decentralized exchange facilitating trustless and permissionless trading of cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets directly from user wallets, removing the need for intermediaries.

Comparing broader Ethereum DEX market data, Uniswap v4 expanded its share from 31% in August 2025 to 50% across v2, v3, v4, and Curve by September 2026. Notably, Uniswap v2’s share dropped from 5% to below 1% during the same period, highlighting the migration to newer versions and updated pool architecture.

DEX Version Tokenized-Stock Volume Share Ethereum Market Share (Sep 2026)
Uniswap v4 40.7% 50%
Uniswap v3 19.4% N/A
Uniswap v2 <1% <1%
Curve N/A Included in remaining share

The different percentages reflect specific markets: 40.7% for Uniswap v4’s share in tokenized-stock DEX trading, and 50% for its position among major Ethereum-based DEX platforms. Keeping these datasets separate is necessary to avoid overstating Uniswap v4’s reach.

Despite strong protocol activity, the price of UNI is not directly tied to usage on the network but remains a key reference point for traders. UNI must reclaim $9.93 to set up a challenge of more significant resistance at $12.30. Breaking below $9.33 could weaken the current setup, with support levels at $8.37, $8.25, and $6.35 remaining in focus.

Token Terminal’s data suggests that trading activity has shifted toward Uniswap’s latest versions, with v4 taking the lead in tokenized-stock DEX volume and adoption among decentralized trading platforms.

Defending the key support at $9.33 could keep UNI in a recovery phase and sustain its post-breakout momentum, while a breakdown would raise the risk of further downside despite Uniswap’s robust DEX volume performance.
