According to reports, German chip manufacturer Infineon Technologies will officially launch its semiconductor factory in Thailand on October 1. The project involves an investment of over 48 billion Thai baht (approximately 1.44 billion US dollars), supporting Thailand in building a more advanced local chip industry. The Thailand Board of Investment stated in a press release that this investment covers power module manufacturing, semiconductor testing, and a research and development center. The Thai factory will produce power modules used in electric vehicles, energy systems, and data centers. The project is expected to employ more than 5,000 local Thai staff.
