- Backman was elected vice chairman at the 2026 annual general meeting.
- He previously held strategy, marketing, and R&D program leadership roles at The Medicines Company.
- Backman also held commercial positions at Merck Serono, AstraZeneca.
- He has served as CEO of J.F.B Consulting AB, J.F.B Invest since 2016.
