Cineplex Names New CEO, Launches Strategic Review

08:26 AM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Cineplex (CGX.TO) appointed Bill Walker as its new chief executive officer, as the board launched a review of strategic alternatives to maximize value for shareholders. Ellis Jacob, the company's former president and CEO, was named special advisor to the board through Dec. 31 amid the strategic review, the company said Wednesday. Options for Cineplex include a potential sale of the company. Cineplex said there is no guarantee that the strategic review will result in any transaction, agreement or other outcome.
