Travere Therapeutics Receives US Patent Allowance for Kidney Disease Drug FILSPARI

07:49 AM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Travere Therapeutics (TVTX) said Wednesday that it received a notice of allowance from the US Patent and Trademark Office for certain methods of using FILSPARI in focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, a rare kidney disease. The company said it expects to receive the patent, which is expected to provide US patent coverage for certain methods of using FILSPARI in the disease into October 2037, after paying the issue fee and completing standard USPTO post-allowance processing. Travere said it expects to submit the patent for listing in the US Food and Drug Administration's Approved Drug Products with Therapeutic Equivalence Evaluations after receiving the grant. Shares of the company were down 1.3% in Wednesday's premarket activity.
