Wells Fargo CFO Says Q3 Net Interest Margin Likely Better Than Expected

10:30 AM EDT, 09/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Wells Fargo (WFC) CFO Mike Santomassimo said Tuesday that the bank's Q3 net interest margin will likely be better than previously expected. Santomassimo said Q3 net interest margin is now expected to decline by about 1 basis point or remain flat, compared with the previous expectation for a 3 to 4 basis point decline, according to a FactSet transcript of his comments at a Barclays conference. Santomassimo also reiterated the bank's expectation for about $50 billion in full-year net interest income, including about $2 billion from its markets business.
