09:03 AM EDT, 09/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were leaning lower premarket Friday, with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) declining by 0.5%. The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 1.9% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 1.3% higher. AMC Entertainment (AMC) CEO Adam Aron criticized Robinhood Markets (HOOD) on X Thursday after the digital trading platform launched a tokenized version of AMC shares, referring to the practice as "contemptible" and "outrageous". Shares of Robinhood Markets were down more than 3% pre-bell.
