Vertex Pharmaceuticals Closes Crinetics Pharmaceuticals Acquisition

09:51 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX) has completed its acquisition of Crinetics Pharmaceuticals (CRNX), Vertex said on Tuesday. Following the acquisition's closing, Jonathan Poole will take over Vertex's chief financial officer role, effective Jan. 1, Vertex said. Poole currently serves as Vertex's senior vice president for finance, the company said. Charles Wagner, chief operating and financial officer of Vertex, will expand his COO role to head Crinetics' integration, effective immediately, Vertex said.
