Ethereum consolidates after 30% surge, DonAlt eyes $2,815 resistance

Ethereum‘s recent price movements are setting the tone for the broader cryptocurrency market in the coming weeks, according to influential trader DonAlt, who is known for accurately predicting significant rallies in digital assets, including XRP’s 700% surge during 2024–2025.

DonAlt highlights Ethereum’s key role

DonAlt, a widely followed analyst in the crypto community, described the current Ethereum daily chart as the cleanest among major cryptocurrencies. He pointed to Ethereum’s decisive breakout above a core resistance level, followed by a steady consolidation phase as a classic technical pattern.

He emphasized that this consolidation is taking place exactly where expected after a strong breakout, and suggested these price movements will likely signal the overall direction for the entire digital asset sector.

“Cleanest chart in crypto right now. How ETH trades is probably gonna be indicative of the rest of the market. So far it’s a clean consolidation after a breakout, exactly what you’d like to see,” DonAlt remarked.

30% rally and next major targets

DonAlt began accumulating Ethereum on August 13 at a price of $1,878, sharing this strategy with his followers. Since that entry, Ethereum rallied by more than 30%, advancing approximately $600 before entering its present consolidation range.

For the longer term, DonAlt sees potential targets close to $4,000 but indicated he would consider taking profits at $3,000 if the market provides that opportunity. This cautious approach highlights the importance of risk management even during periods of strong price appreciation.

Critical support and resistance levels

The analyst identified two notable zones shaping ETH’s short-term price outlook. The $2,400 mark has established itself as key support, reflecting strong buying activity once Ethereum moved above this level. The coin is currently consolidating within a green accumulation zone between $2,454 and $2,492.

Meanwhile, the medium-term resistance for buyers is set at $2,815.68, which DonAlt has marked as a significant barrier. Investors and traders are watching this level closely for signs of a breakout or rejection in the near term.

Level Price Significance
Support $2,400 Key area buyers are defending
Accumulation Range $2,454–$2,492 Current consolidation zone
Resistance $2,815.68 Medium-term target for buyers

Low volatility combined with the asset’s ability to hold above $2,400 suggests that buyers are still in control. Volume accumulation continues during this sideways movement, which many view as a precursor to Ethereum’s next significant price move.

DonAlt indicated that whichever direction Ethereum takes after this consolidation—either upwards through resistance or down below support—will likely influence the broader altcoin market, reinforcing Ethereum’s role as a bellwether for digital asset trends.

Even with rising interest rates, the compound annual growth rate of AFFO per share is still expected to reach 11%–12% from 2025 to 2028, demonstrating strong earning resilience.

This time, will U.S. Treasury bonds crash U.S. stocks?

Bloomberg strategist Simon White warns that the recent rise in US Treasury yields is shifting from a "benign" increase driven by interest rate expectations to a disorderly surge fueled by expanding term premium. Market analysts note that higher long-term interest rates will simultaneously push up US stock valuation discount rates and corporate financing costs, intensifying liquidation pressure on highly leveraged assets. If interest rates above 5% become the new norm, US stock valuations will face ongoing compression pressure.
