Cardano (ADA), a blockchain platform recognized for its focus on scalability and research-driven development, saw its price rise to $0.196 after notching a 14% gain over the past week. Despite trading around 94% below its all time high of $3.10, ADA’s upward momentum is drawing renewed interest from traders and large investors.
Cardano jumps 14% as major holders buy 110 million ADA, targets $0.47
Technical signals point to breakout potential
ADA’s price recovery has gained traction as the asset consistently holds above the 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $0.18, a level many analysts regard as a key indicator for sustained bullish moves. Technical analysts observed that Cardano recently broke out of a long-standing descending channel. This technical breakout has already yielded a 13% upward move, and if maintained, market observers set a potential target of $0.47 for ADA—representing a 147% upside from current values.
Technical analysis suggests that, with Cardano trading above the descending channel, the asset could target $0.47, signaling a possible 147% increase from its present price, provided ADA can hold above key support levels.
Market projections for ADA through 2026 generally cluster between $0.22 and $0.30, translating to gains ranging from 11% to 52% given present prices.

Large holders increase accumulation
Blockchain data provider Santiment reported that investors controlling between 1 million and 100 million ADA accumulated a total of 110 million ADA tokens over the past several days. Although ADA’s market cap has rebounded, large transaction volumes involving transfers over 100,000 ADA remain low, with only seven such transactions recorded recently, significantly below more active periods in the past.
Crypto market participant Mr Brownstone noted that ADA has entered a long-term accumulation zone. He outlined two possible near-term scenarios: either ADA has found its bottom and is set for a sustained rally, or the price could experience one more dip below $0.138 before a significant recovery. He emphasized a long-term investment mindset, gradually building exposure below $0.22.

Derivative market sentiment and resistance levels
On the derivatives side, analytics service CoinGlass reported that ADA’s OI-weighted funding rate flipped positive over the weekend, reaching 0.0038% by Monday. This indicates traders holding long positions are now paying those in short positions, reflecting a cautiously optimistic market sentiment.
The long-to-short ratio for ADA stood at 0.99, just below the neutral read of 1.0. A rise above this threshold would signal more traders are betting on price appreciation rather than decline. Further, technical indicators such as the Relative Strength Index, currently near 64, and the MACD continue to support a moderate recovery outlook.
ADA faces major resistance at $0.213, $0.231, and $0.236. A strong move above these levels is needed to challenge the higher $0.30 zone. For now, the coin continues to trade just above a significant technical marker, the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement at $0.195.
