No data or financial losses incurred: MetaMask reveals that North Korean hacker Tyler Knapp infiltrated the fiat on/off-ramp development team as an outsourced participant.

According to Odaily, as monitored by Matt Corva, MetaMask experienced a security incident involving a North Korean hacker named Tyler Knapp. This hacker joined MetaMask through a long-term HR outsourcing provider, bypassing the company’s direct recruitment background check, worked at the company for a month, and participated in the development of the wallet's fiat on/off-ramp feature. During this period, abnormal IP and behavioral patterns were detected by the company’s security monitoring, after which MetaMask immediately revoked all his access rights and suspended all product releases he handled. No substantial data or funds loss has occurred so far.
