edgeX: EDGE’s abnormal fluctuations are due to external manipulation and are not a platform security incident
Odaily reported that edgeX released its latest statement regarding the abnormal price fluctuations of the EDGE token, stating that the protocol has not suffered any form of attack. The incident was not caused by hacking, vulnerability exploitation, or security flaws.
edgeX indicated that the information obtained so far shows that the abnormal fluctuation was the result of deliberate manipulation of the EDGE market price by some external participants. This is a matter of market integrity, not platform security.
The team stated they are actively investigating the incident with relevant exchanges and partner platforms, and will publish a more comprehensive incident report once the investigation is completed.
