21Shares executive: Bitcoin may reach $100,000 this year as institutional investors accelerate entry

ChainCatcher reports that Adrian Fritz, Chief Investment Officer at 21Shares, stated that spot Bitcoin ETFs continue to attract capital inflows, reinforcing Bitcoin's core position in institutional asset allocation, even though its price remains fluctuating below 80,000 US dollars. Adrian Fritz pointed out that since the beginning of this year, Bitcoin ETFs have absorbed nearly 2 billion US dollars, with funds coming from retail investors, institutions, as well as arbitrage and option strategy trading from hedge funds.

As traditional asset management institutions such as Morgan Stanley accelerate their expansion, crypto assets are being increasingly included in multi-asset portfolio allocations. Bitcoin's current daily trading volume has already surpassed 50 billion US dollars, with liquidity levels approaching those of major tech stocks like Nvidia. The ETF mechanism provides both primary and secondary market liquidity, gradually granting Bitcoin the attributes of an "institutional-grade asset."

Despite continued pressures from macro and interest rate environments, Adrian Fritz believes that ETF capital inflows have shifted from speculation-driven to structural demand. He expects that, supported by factors such as improvements in geopolitical situations, sustained inflows, and short covering, Bitcoin may challenge the 100,000 US dollar mark within this year. Meanwhile, the divergence among altcoins is intensifying, and the market is shifting towards asset selection logic that places greater emphasis on fundamentals and cash flow.
