Eurozone Private Sector Growth Slows at Quarter’s End
Recent data from the S&P Global PMI® survey reveals that the euro area’s private sector experienced its weakest business activity growth in nine months as the first quarter concluded. For the first time since July of last year, demand weakened, highlighted by a fresh decline in new orders within the service industry. The survey also noted a significant surge in input costs, with inflation accelerating to its highest point since February 2023. The seasonally adjusted S&P Global Eurozone Composite PMI® Output Index, which measures overall business activity, reflected these trends.
