US Dollar Surges to Highest Level in Nearly a Year
The US dollar climbed to its strongest point in 11 months, fueled by ongoing geopolitical uncertainties and evolving expectations around interest rates. Despite this upward momentum, movements among major currency pairs are showing signs of hesitation, with several stalling at important technical thresholds.
While the British pound against the US dollar has experienced the steepest drop, other currencies are hovering close to their support levels. This suggests that the dollar's performance may be uneven in the short term.
On Monday, the US dollar index marked its fifth straight day of gains, breaking through to levels not seen since last year and continuing the bullish trend from the previous week. Heightened geopolitical risks persisted, especially after Iran dismissed Trump’s peace initiatives as “unrealistic,” while the US maintained its stance.
