As part of its on-chain neobank, DeFi protocol ether.fi processes tens of thousands of transactions daily, with a total volume exceeding $2 million. To strengthen the resilience of its payment model, the project team is migrating 300,000 accounts and 70,000 active crypto cards to OP Mainnet.

The ether.fi Cash app, operating as an on-chain neobank, processes around 28,000 payment transactions and 2,000 internal digital asset swaps daily. The average daily user spending volume exceeds $2 million. Since its launch in 2024, the service’s key metrics have roughly doubled every two months, enabling the product to secure a leading position among solutions at the intersection of digital assets and everyday payments.

As part of further scaling, the ether.fi team is migrating the project’s payment infrastructure to OP Mainnet. In the coming months, the migration will affect approximately 300,000 user accounts and 70,000 active crypto cards, as well as a significant amount of user liquidity. The transition will take place seamlessly for users and without interrupting operations.

The chosen infrastructure already demonstrated its ability to handle large-scale workloads. In H2 2025, 3.6 billion transactions were processed based on OP Stack, about 13% of all digital asset operations during that period. For ether.fi, this means access to infrastructure designed for global payment flows, broader liquidity, and a wider range of assets available for deposits and withdrawals.

The transition to the new platform also gives users access to incentive programs using the OP token. At the same time, the company covers gas fees and network costs for card transactions, lowering the barrier to mass adoption of digital assets in everyday payments.

ether.fi Cash, launched in September 2024, effectively became the largest non-custodial crypto credit card, with total spending exceeding $265 million. Moreover, the service allows users to convert fiat into digital assets and vice versa, earn yield through decentralized finance (DeFi) tools, and pay for purchases worldwide with cashback starting from 3% and higher. The app also includes bonus programs, tiered participation levels, travel privileges, and the issuance of metal cards.

In 2025, a sharp increase in the use of crypto cards for everyday payments was recorded. The volume spent in 2025 by users of crypto cards issued within the Visa network increased more than sixfold, exceeding $91 million in December.
