Investors led by Blackstone will inject up to $600 million into Indian AI company Neysa
A group of investors led by Blackstone Group plans to make an equity investment of up to $600 million in Neysa, an Indian artificial intelligence cloud startup.
According to a statement released on Monday, in addition to this round of equity financing, Neysa will also seek to raise an additional $600 million in debt financing. The company plans to use these funds to deploy more than 20,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) in India for AI training and high-performance applications.
This announcement comes as the India AI Impact Summit opens, bringing together AI industry leaders, government officials, and investors to discuss the future direction of AI technology and showcase local entrepreneurial projects. For India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the summit provides an opportunity to highlight India's strengths as a competitor in the global AI race.
Ganesh Mani, Senior Managing Director of Blackstone Private Equity, stated in the release: "This investment will enable Neysa to play an important role in advancing India's AI infrastructure and allow enterprises and public institutions to deploy AI technology more effectively."
