Glonghui, February 10th|According to The Information, Amazon AMZN.O has signaled to publishing industry executives that it is planning to launch a marketplace allowing publishers to sell their content to companies providing artificial intelligence products. The report, citing two people who have spoken with Amazon about the project, said that prior to the Amazon Web Services conference held on Tuesday, AWS had already distributed slides mentioning the content marketplace. The report added that the slides showed AWS categorizing the marketplace alongside its core AI tools, including Bedrock and Quick Suite, when describing products that publishers could use in their businesses. According to the report, publishers and AI companies are negotiating rules for using online content—whether for training models or generating answers for users—with publishers demanding fees based on usage, which increase as content usage rises.
